Brian Stratton

After graduating from UMASS back in 1984, Jim and Joe moved back to the South Shore of Massachusetts, and with younger brothers, Gerard and Paul, still facing two more years of college in Western MA, the band needed a regular local bass player. After responding to an ad taken out by the band in the local Want Ads, Brian, at only age 16, became the regular bass player in the Armstrong Brothers Band. By 1986, Brian graduated from High School and, already an experienced musician, started his own local Rock Band, The Infractions, with our full support. Since that day his band performed regularly throughout Massachusetts and beyond until his passing in 2017 far too early in life at age 49. Until the day he passed, Brian was truly the “leader of the band”, and enjoyed bringing together musicians from all over the South Shore to share the stage in community performances in the area. His early influence on the Armstrong Brothers Band sound, and his later work as leader of the Infractions will not be forgotten.

Bill Holbrook

Bill Holbrook- Before performing regularly with the Armstrong Brothers, Bill played drums for several popular local rock bands, including the Infractions, Fat City, and others. It took a little while to convince Bill to play country music with us, but he quickly learned to love it and became a vital part of the band between 2006- 2018. With our blessing, Bill left the band in 2018 to expand his music horizon a bit; even playing in a jazz band for a while. We will always appreciate Bill’s great contribution to the Armstrong Brothers Sound and he is drummer for our CD tracks recorded prior to 2018.

PJ Justice

PJ joined the band as our regular bass player between 2009-2013 and prior to becoming part of the Armstrong Brothers Band played bass with several leading rock banks in Massachusetts, including Fat City and the Infractions. PJ recorded the bass tracks for all but two of our CD tracks recorded prior to 2014 and now enjoys semi-retirement performing in his home-state of Florida with his talented musician wife as a popular beach club coastal duo. We miss his great talent and steady bass rhythms and appreciate all he gave to the Armstrong Brothers sound.

Ana Haynie

The only regular woman member of the Armstrong Brothers in our band’s history, Ana took to Ukulele and guitar at the young age of 8 and by age 14 was already a well-known regular performer at local art festivals and community concerts. At age 16-20, Ana became a regular guitarist-singer for the band, and, in fact, provided backing female harmony vocals for our CD track, Turn Your Cell Phone Off. After graduating from the University of Virginia, Ana pursued her career of teaching elementary school children and enjoys raising her four children in Pennsylvania with her husband, Alex; while still finding time to pick up her guitar now and then. We will always remember Ana’s contribution to the band and am sure she will spread her love of music and life to her own children and future generations of her family.

Banjo Bob Glynn

Though Joe Armstrong recorded his own banjo tracks for the CD Project; whenever the band has needed a live banjo player for our Summer community shows, Banjo Bob Glynn has always answered the call. Bob has played banjo since age 14 and since that time has helped the band out every year. To his music friends, he is just called…Banjo Bob..and that says it all. Bob enjoys his day career as a local small businessman with his wife and son. We appreciate his expert country banjo-picking and look forward to many more years of sit-in performances with the band at festivals to come.
